MORPHICS is a 3-D Full Screen Animated Screen Saver. Random or Routine Animations will automatically come on screen when the computer is not in use for a period of time which you select. To stop the screen saver, simply press a key on the keyboard or a mouse button. Morphics will also play still pictures in a RLE, DIB, or BMP format.
Morphics also makes a nice FLI/FLC (or RLE, DIB, or BMP) viewer because of it's PREVIEW option as well as it's ability to be ran directly from Program Manager.
T H O R W A R E is ran on a 386 or better processor with at least 2Mb of RAM.
USING MORPHICS:
Simply click on the Morphics icon within the Morphics window in Program Manager to configure Morphics. Press <OK> after all options are selected and Morphics automatically configures Windows to run Morphics as the default screen saver.
SELECT FILES: The Directories list box will default to "C:\WINDOWS". The animation files which came with Morphics should have been copied to this directory and would be listed in the Files list box. To select an animation file, either double click on the file you would like to have moved to your SELECTED list box, or click once on the file and once on the <<ADD button.
You can select files from any drive or network that you currently have mapped in Windows. If you change your drive mappings, a CD is not in your CD-ROM player, or your specified path has changed for some other reason, then Morphics will simply proceed to the next animation while the screen saver is running..
PICTURES: The Pictures button will toggle between displaying RLE, DIB, or BMP files in the file list box. Some PC's contain a number of BMP files in the \windows directory, making it difficult to find the FLI or FLC animations. This button allows you to filter out the still pictures.
PREVIEW FILES: If you would like to preview the animation before adding it to your Selected list box, click on the file once so that the name of the file appears in the Preview box. When the file you want to look at appears in the Preview box, you can press the PREVIEW button to see the animation full screen. Press any key or mouse button to end the animation.
CYCLE TIME: Morphics will cycle through the animations you've selected according to the time you input in the "Delay before changing animation: " field. The default time is 5 minutes. If you've selected on one animation, this time is not applicable.
ANIMATION SPEED: You have control over how fast the animations will run. Perhaps you don't think your running man runs fast enough...change this value to 30 frames per second...or slow him to a crawl with 10 frames per second. The default and recommended speed is 20 frames per second. You can judge the speed of your animations by the speed of the spinning Thorware / Morphics logo.
RANDOM PLAY: Select this check box to have Morphics randomly select an animation. If this box remains unchecked, Morphics will play the animation in the order listed in the Selected Animations list box.
SPECIAL NOTES: If you are running CD-Player or other Multimedia device, Morphics will simply display a blank black screen instead of an animation, in order to avoid software conflicts. The screen can be refreshed by pressing a key or mouse button. To avoid this, simply close your multimedia player when through using it.

Morphics supports ANY 320 x 200 *.fli or *.flc animation file. (Morphics will also run 640 x 480 animations, but the higher resolution will be centered on your screen in the resolution windows is running. i.e. 800 x 600, 1024 x 768...)

TROUBLESHOOTING MORPHICS:
If you are having any problems at all with Morphics, first verify the following files have been copied to your \WINDOWS directory:
morphics.scr
logo.fli
morphics.txt
and these files have been copied to your \WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory:
aaplay.dll
aavga.dll
vbplay.vbx
threed.vbx
If any of the above files are missing, please contact T H O R W A R E for a complete version of Morphics.
If you are having problems displaying the animation files full screen, first verify that the line "FullScreen=AAVGA.DLL" has been added to section [AAPlay Animation] of the \windows\win.ini file.
Next verify that you are not running a multimedia device, such as CD-Player or AVI-Player. There are inherent conflicts while running these multimedia players with Morphics.
Some systems require the full screen animations to use interrupt 2f to switch between Windows and full screen mode. In order to have Morphics use this interrupt, add the following line to section [AAPlay Animation] of the \windows\win.ini file: Int2fSwitch=yes (The default setting is "no".)
